Juli 1945 errichtete Alliierte Kontrollstelle entwickelte sich im Verlauf des Kalten Krieges zur gr\u00f6\u00dften und bedeutendsten Grenz\u00fcbergangsstelle an der ehemaligen innerdeutschen Grenze. Allein von 1985 \u2013 1989 wurden hier 34,6 Millionen Reisende abgefertigt. Etwa 1.000 Menschen arbeiteten auf der Grenz\u00fcbergangsstelle in den Bereichen Passkontrolle und Zoll, bei den Grenztruppen der DDR und als Zivilbesch\u00e4ftigte.
