Sie wurde aus milit\u00e4rischen Gr\u00fcnden auf beiden Ufern mit starken Bollwerken befestigt. Ein drehbarer Br\u00fcckenteil sollte nicht nur der Schifffahrt die Passage erleichtern, sondern Notfalls auch die Eisenbahnlinie unterbrechen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n<p>Im April 1945 wurde die Br\u00fccke bei einem alliierten Luftangriff zerst\u00f6rt. Zwar verkehrten nach dem Krieg dort wieder kurzfristig Z\u00fcge, 1947 kam es jedoch endg\u00fcltig zur Stilllegung der Strecke. Die Bahnanlagen wurden als Reparationsleistung f\u00fcr die Sowjetunion demontiert. An einer Wiederherstellung der Verbindung und einem Wiederaufbau der Br\u00fccke waren die beiden deutschen Staaten nicht interessiert, da die Strecke nur regionale Bedeutung hatte.
